December News 2014

th December – CHOIR - Sutton Bridge Gospel Choir did a really good job singing at Holbeach Christmas Market. Well done everyone! (The performance outside sounded good and the warm up in the small room where we could all hear each other sounded amazing!)

th December – CHOIR - Simply Sing Community Choir had been invited to sing for a surprise renewal of wedding renewals! A lovely lady had arranged this for her parents on their wedding anniversary and wanted us to perform 'Have I Told You Lately That I Love You' (which was performed by Ron and Vera, a wonderful couple in the choir who had themselves been married for many decades.) We were also asked to perform 'Love Love Love' (and I quote) 'like the version in the film Love Actually.' This was quite a task because that had been arranged for a small orchestra as well as a choir... which we didn't have! After listening to a lot of versions I managed to make up a version that would suit the people that we had and we performed that. I have to add that Ron and Vera did so well that many of the choir were rather tearful (in a good way!) by the end of their performance.

th December – MUSIC TEACHING - Congratulations to my grade 7 violin pupil, Sophie for getting your music scholarship for 6th form. You've worked really hard and deserve it - well done! Sophie's Mum kindly wrote - Thank you Christina for such wonderful support and kind words. I've said it before but I'll say it again...you're a very special teacher and we are lucky to have you.

th December – CHOIR - The Christmas Choir sang at the Carols by Candlelight service at Tydd St Mary and did a really good job - well done, and thank you for your enthusiasm!

th December – CHOIR - Simply Sing Community Choir performed at Tapping House Hospice Light Up A Life event and sounded fantastic - I was so proud of you, well done!

th December – CHOIR - Sutton Bridge Gospel Choir performed for the W. I. Christmas Party and a fun time was had by all. Well done to everyone in the W. I. as well for joining in the audience participation ones so well!

th December - CHOIR - Simply Sing and the Gospel Choir performed a joint Christmas concert called Sing Along Christmas. This went really well and the sound of the 2 choirs together was great. A great, fun evening was had by all, really well done everyone!

th December – CHOIR - The Christmas Choir sang carols at the Bancroft Retirement Home and Nene Lodge Retirement Home. Well done and thank you to everyone who managed to escape from family visiting, last minute shopping and the dreaded virus that was going round to bring some Christmas cheer to the residents (something I think is very important.) Also, well done to those residents who joined in so well!

st December – CHOIR - The Christmas Choir sang at the Carols by Candlelight service at St Matthew's Sutton Bridge and did a really good job - well done, and thank you for your enthusiasm!

nd December – CHOIR - Choir Social - After SO many performances we had a lovely evening at our house with everyone in the choirs invited round for mulled wine and mince pies. Thanks everyone for a great evening - you are now all allowed a well deserved break until January!
